Bombers fall to Jaguars

Barnum Bomber Jake Nynas jumps for the touchdown catch against the Hinckley-Finlayson Jaguars.

The Barnum Bombers took a drive to Hinckley to take on the Jaguars of Hinckley-Finlayson September 25.

The Bombers started the night kicking off to the Jaguars, but whether it was planned or it just happened, the Bombers' short kick bounced out of the hands of the Jaguars and the Bombers fell onto the ball to recover the onside kick.

With Bombers quarterback Hunter Lake still out after last week's injury, Drake Weets got the call to take the quarterback position. The Bombers began to move the ball up the field but the Jaguars' defense proved to be too strong for the Bombers. Soon the Jaguars shut down the Bombers' offense and forced the Bombers to punt the ball away.

The Jaguars then drove the ball up the field for the touchdown and kicked for the extra point.

The Bombers ran into trouble as the Jaguars discovered they could move the ball with little difficulty if they moved to an air game.

The Bombers were plagued with drops as they fumbled multiple times leading to Jaguars scores. The Bombers eventually found a way to stop the Jaguars' air onslaught as they started to knock the ball down, preventing it from reaching its intended receiver.

Coincidentally, the Bombers' only score came off a pass play from Weets to Jake Nynas for an easy touchdown. Weets then kept the ball and ran it in for the two-point conversion.

The Bombers continued to fight but found the Jaguars' line was too big to move and the Bombers fell 38-8.

The Bombers will travel to Braham to take on the Bombers October 2.
