Outlaws end excellent season

The Moose Lake Legion Outlaws baseball team advanced to the state tournament held July 30-August 2 in Morris. They qualified for the Central Plains Division II Tournament in Le Sueur by being runner-up to Foley.

In pool one play on Thursday, August 6 the Outlaws beat a team from Hays, Kansas, by a score of 14-4 in six innings. On Friday, August 7 the Outlaws lost to a team from Las Vegas, Nevada, by a score of 11-6. Since all the teams in this pool were 1-1, a tie breaker was needed and Las Vegas and Kansas advanced.

The team the Outlaws lost to in the state championship, Foley, continued to advance with an undefeated record and won the Central Plains Division, while the Outlaws ended their excellent season with a record of 29-19.
