MLWR Rebels clobber Carlton Bulldogs

MLWR Rebel Wyatt Lampel gets an RBI with an infield single in the April 16 home game against Carlton.

The Moose Lake/Willow River Rebels hosted, on a beautiful Thursday, April 13, and clobbered the Carlton Bulldogs 16-0 in five innings. MLWR spanked seven singles, had a triple and took advantage of eight walks. Charlie Adamczak got the pitching win while allowing only two singles, striking out three and walking three in his four innings of work. Wyatt Lampel closed out the game on the mound for the Rebels.

Eric Prachar had six RBIs for MLWR. Kody Gerard had a two-RBI triple. MLWR had only one error while the Bulldogs suffered five miscues.

Carlton's first hitter lofted a deep fly to center for Teddy Ryan to chase down. A chopper back to Adamczak and a flip to Rex Janke preceded a single up the middle. Adamczak got his first K.

Ryan took a lead-off walk. Jesse Granfors bunted Ryan to second. A wild pitch got Ryan to third prior to Brad Fossum walking. Prachar's chopper was a fielder's choice RBI for 1-0. With Lampel at the plate a wild pitch allowed Fossum to sprint home. Lampel bounced to short but the Rebels were up 2-0.

Adamczak walked the lead-off but fanned the next. A wild pitch allowed a runner to advance but the next grounded to Lampel at second and Carlton stranded one in scoring position.

Janke popped to short. Gerard took a four-pitch walk and stole with Adamczak up. Carlton tried to get the lead runner on Adamczak's grounder, but Gerard was safe. Joey Whited hit back to box for a fielder's choice RBI and 3-0. With Ryan up, Carlton's catcher lost the grip for a while but recovered and threw out Adamczak at third.

Adamczak issued his second walk. A slow roller became an error for runners on the corners. The Rebels turned a snazzy double to get out of the inning as Carlton again stranded a runner in scoring position.

Ryan walked and stole before Granfors also walked. A walk to Fossum loaded the bases for clean-up Prachar and he came through with a two-RBI single for 5-0. Lampel got an infield single RBI for 6-0. Janke hit into a force out at third. Gerard slugged a two-RBI triple for 8-0. Adamczak's fly to left made it 9-0. Whited took the Rebels' seventh walk. Lefty Ryan hit a solid single through the opposite side. Granfors reached on an error at short. An error at short on a ball hit by Fossum scored two runs for 11-0. Prachar singled through the left side for two RBIs and 13-0. One passed ball came with Lampel up but the Rebels stayed put and Lampel struck out.

A fly to right was handled by Gerard. Fossum took care of a pop behind to mound. Adamczak walked his third and gave up his second single. A soft liner to second kept it 13-0 as Carlton stranded another in scoring position.

Chet Morgan got a pinch-hit single and Brady Witkoski ran out an infield single. Adamczak popped foul to first. David Moonen got a pinch hit RBI single for 14-0. A wild pitch advanced runners. Ryan was the Rebels' eighth walk. Ikki Kinoshita pinch ran. Granfors flied to right. An error at short on Fossum's roller scored a run for 15-0. Prachar got an RBI the easy way as he walked in a run for 16-0. Lampel struck out.

Lampel closed the game for Adamczak. A grounder went to Morgan and he tossed to Lampel. Lampel walked one. The Rebels got a force at second. Lampel closed it with a K and Carlton stranded one last runner in scoring position.
