Armed man jailed

On Monday evening, March 30, at about 8:30 p.m. the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office received a 9-1-1 call of a domestic disturbance occurring on County Road 10 in Moose Lake Township.

The report indicates the caller’s son-in-law came to the house armed with weapons and wanting to fight. A firearm was pointed at family members and threats of violence were spoken to family.

Officers from the Moose Lake Police Department, Minnesota State Patrol and Cloquet Police Department responded and assisted the Carlton County Sheriff’s Office with the call for service.

The suspect had left the home by vehicle prior to officers’ arrival.

A short time later, Jeremiah Robert Ray, age 25, of Moose Lake, was arrested at a residence in the Sturgeon Lake area in Pine County. Ray was transported to the Carlton County Jail for first degree burglary, second degree assault and terroristic threats.

Ray is currently being held pending formal charges.
