Wall of Fame inductees announced


Janice Larson Razaq will be inducted into the Moose Lake Community School's Wall of Fame February 27.

Moose Lake Community School's Wall of Fame will be inducting Janice Larson Razaq and the Triple Crown winners in the 2015 class. The induction ceremony will be held at approximately 7 p.m. in between the girls' varsity and junior varsity basketball games at Moose Lake Community Schools on Friday, February 27. The public is invited to attend the induction ceremony to celebrate the amazing achievements of these women.

After graduating from Moose Lake High School in 1962, Razaq attended the Eastman School of Music for her Bachelor of Music degree. Next, she received a Fulbright grant for three years, taking her to London where she studied at the Royal Academy of Music and performed at Wigmore Hall. She was an award winner at the Canals International Competition in Barcelona, Spain. Razaq's post-graduate degrees are from the University of Illinois (Master of Music) and Texas Tech University (Doctor of Musical Arts). Her performances range from Minnesota Public Radio to concertos with orchestras and solo recitals across the U.S. Her lecture/demonstrations are featured both in the U.S. and Canada. Positions of leadership include president of Illinois State Music Teachers Association and officer of the national organization, the American Matthay Association for Piano. She is director of keyboard studies at Harper College (Illinois).

The Triple Crown winners won volleyball, girls basketball, and softball state championships during the 1981-82 school year. The Triple Crown winners of Moose Lake are the only girls teams to win all three championships in one year in the state of Minnesota. The teams went undefeated in all three sports. The seniors that year who played on all three teams were Annie Adamczak, Barb Anderson, Dianne Berg, Laureen Fink, Julie Johnson and Kris Jones.
