Jusczak leads Rebels past Bombers

Moose Lake/Willow River Rebel Adri Jusczak breaks the school's career scoring record recently.

Moose Lake/Willow River senior Adri Jusczak scored 20 points and had 12 rebounds for a double-double as she led the Rebels past the Barnum Bombers 54-44 in Moose Lake on Thursday, February 5. Jusczak, who is one of three Minnesota Miss Basketball finalists, also surpassed the career scoring record. Libbie Ring made the double digits as she had 10 points.

The Bombers were paced by Cheyanne Johnson's 13 points, including four three-pointers. Bailey Wheeler hit the double figures as she had 12 points, including four three-pointers.

The Bombers held the upper hand outside the arc as they went 9-for-25 (36 percent). The Rebels went 3-for-10 (30 percent) on their long attempts. MLWR had a strong inside game as they went 20-for-37 (54 percent) in the paint. Barnum went just 6-for-23 (26 percent) in the lane.

Adding up the threes and the twos, the Rebels were 23-for-47 (49 percent) while the Bombers were 15-for-48 (31 percent). Both teams were 5-for-11 (45 percent) from the foul stripe.

The Rebels out-rebounded the Bombers 31-21. The Bombers had six steals while the Rebels had five take-aways. MLWR was strong on the assists as they had 14 passes for scores while Barnum had eight assists. Barnum had 12 turnovers while MLWR had 16 lost possessions.
