Barnum Bomber Hunter Fetters rises above the Floodwood Polar Bears for the basket in the January 23 game in Barnum. The Bombers won 63-37.

In a showdown of two undefeated teams, the Barnum Bombers boys basketball team hosted the Floodwood Polar Bears on Friday, January 23.

This was billed to be a matchup of two dominant teams facing off, but from the tip-off the Bombers showed they had no fear of the Polar Bears. The Bombers took control of the game early on and never looked back.

The Bombers, led by Brandon Newman, would all but shut down the Polar Bears' offensive attacks. The Bombers pounded the ball in from long range to begin with, but soon drove in to the lane to blast the Polar Bears with a multi-pronged attack. The Bombers headed into halftime with a 32-19 lead.

For the second half, the Polar Bears again struggled against the onslaught of attacks by the Bombers. Newman slowed his attack in the second half and Bomber Hunter Fetters came alive to lead the Bombers.

The Bombers crushed the Polar Bears' undefeated season with a 63-37 victory.

Bombers win over Eagles

Next, the Bombers hosted the Eagles of East Central on Monday, January 26.

Again the Bombers dominated from the beginning as Newman alone matched the Eagles' score of 25 points. With the 25 points Fetters added to the Bombers' score, the Eagles never stood a chance. The addition of the rest of the Bombers' offensive weapons clearly showed the Eagles were over-matched.

The Bombers ran away with the 86-25 victory over the Eagles.
