Sage Gerard (12) has a six-point night for the Moose Lake Area Rebels girls hockey team last Tuesday when they traveled to Grantsburg, Wisconsin, and beat the Blizzard 13-0. Gerard had three goals and three assists.

The Moose Lake Area Rebels girls hockey team traveled to Grantsburg, Wisconsin, and snowed under the Blizzard 13-0 on December 2. Sage Gerard had a six-point night as she scored a hat trick and had three assists. Asia Gobel had a hat trick. Jessica Bird had two goals and five assists to lead the totals with a seven-point effort. The Rebels outshot the Blizzard 65-11 with Maddy Gamst getting her second shutout of the season.

Karina Cisar and Gerard combined 38 seconds into the game. At 2:44 it was Gerard and Lauren Pederson. Gobel's first goal came at 3:31 and was assisted by Jessica Bird. Cisar scored at 7:32 and was assisted by Gerard and Pederson. Jessica Bird and Jamie Bird combined at 8:49. At 10:30 it was Cheyanne Wilson and Jessica Bird clicking for 7-0 MLA.

Gobel got her second goal of the game at 2:50 of the second stanza and was assisted by the Bird girls. Lauren Pederson scored at 7:06 and was assisted by Jamie Bird to give the Rebels a 9-0 lead.

The Moose Lake Area Rebels boys hockey team falls 8-4 to Northern Lakes at Riverside Arena in Moose Lake December 4.

Jessica Bird, Gerard and Cassie Gassert combined on the power play at 8:03 of the final frame. Gerard scored at 11:42 and was assisted by Pederson. Gerard got her hat trick at 12:19 and was assisted Cisar and Jamie Bird. Gobel's hat trick, assisted by Jessica Bird, closed out the scoring for the big 13-0 win on the road.


Rebels doubled up on by Northern Lakes

The Moose Lake Area Rebels boys hockey team was doubled up 8-4 by Northern Lakes at Riverside Arena in Moose Lake on Thursday, December 4. Bryceton Butkiewicz had two goals for MLA, along with an assist.

Butkiewicz's goal at 5:13, assisted by Jesse Granfors, pulled the Rebels back to within a goal at 2-1, but Northern Lakes went on to score four unanswered goals.

Richie Parzy scored at 16:23 of the second period with Butkiewicz and Teddy Ryan getting the assists, to get to 7-3.

Butkiewicz's final goal came at 16:01 of the third period and was assisted by Wyatt Lampel.
