Barnum Bomber Mitchell Weller powers through the Ogilvie Lions for one of his three touchdowns of the night.

The Barnum Bombers football team hosted the Ogilvie Lions in the Bombers' homecoming game on Friday October 10.

The Bombers scored first as junior Chris Carlson took the ball in from 7 yards out, with the 2-point conversion good. The Bombers then kicked an onside kick and recovered the ball to set up their second drive for the night and again scored as senior Mitchell Weller took the ball in from 9 yards out, with the 2-point conversion also good, giving the Bombers a 16-0 lead in the first quarter.

In the second quarter, the Bombers added another 16 points, ending the first half with a 32-0 lead over the Lions.

The second half had the Lions finally getting on the board with a touchdown, but a failed 2-point conversion attempt. The Bombers continued to show their dominance as they racked up two more touchdowns, but this time they went for the extra point and only got one of those kicks to go through the uprights.

The Lions came alive in the fourth quarter scoring twice, with only one 2-point conversion successful. The fourth quarter had many of the Bombers' junior varsity players on the field. Bomber senior Nate Jelinek scored his first touchdown in the last home game of his career - he recovered a blocked punt in the Lions' end zone for the touchdown.

The Bombers ended the night with the victory over the Lions, 45-20.
