Bombers victorious over Agates

Barnum Bomber Hannah Tate nudges the ball over the Agates defense.

The Lady Bombers of Barnum hit the road October 2 to take on the Two Harbors Agates. The ladies took the night three sets to one.

The Lady Bombers moved the ball well and communicated more on the floor. The four sets came down to the wire with neither team taking a large lead. The Bombers only came away from the night with two kills, one by Hannah Tate and one by Emma Koski, with ball placement being the downfall of the Agates.

The Agates returned most hard-shot kills by the Bombers forcing them to use other tactics. The Bombers soon just nudged the ball over the hands of the blockers.

Bomber Emma Koski caught the Agates off-guard as she bumped the ball over the net for the point, rather than setting up the kill shot for the other ladies. Kamille Korpela led the Bombers in digs with nine. Peyton Bushey ended the night with seven digs, one block and one set assist. Madison Hlavka ended the evening with five digs, one block and dominated with 13 unanswered serves, seven of which were in the last match to win the night. Hannah Tate would put up a wall as she blocked eight times. Alyssa Hunter put up four blocks with three digs and one ace serve.
