Bomber Colton Ziegler makes a run for first down. Later in the game, Ziegler received a blocked 2-point conversion and powered his way into the end zone for the points.

The Barnum Bombers faced off against the East Central Eagles at home in the second game of the season.

The Bombers looked strong in the beginning as they were able to hold the Eagles with little movement down the field in the opening drive.

The Eagles also looked strong as they kept the Bombers from moving the ball. Bomber Mitchell Weller lost control of the football and the Eagles recovered it, however they were out of bounds on the recovery.

The Eagles were first to score early in the second quarter with the extra point good. Just a few minutes later, they were again knocking on the door for another score. Eagle Casey Sura carried the ball into the end zone for East Central's second touchdown of the night, with the Bombers blocking the extra point kick.

The Bombers got their chance to move the ball down the field in their next possession. They pounded and passed their way down the field resulting in a Weller touchdown. The Bombers lined up to go for the 2-point conversion, but Chris Carlson was stopped short of the end zone. The Bombers trailed 13-6.

Barnum then got a spark of energy as Bomber Tommy Ziegler picked off the Sura pass to give the ball back to the Bombers. The first half ended before the Bombers could capitalize on the interception.

The second half began with the Bombers taking control of the ball, however they failed to move the ball very far and were forced to punt it away.

The Bombers again took control of the football and fought their way down the field, earning every yard. Barnum found a way to get the ball into the end zone to bring the game to within 1 point. They then opted for the 2-point conversion pass, which would initially be batted away by the Eagles. The ball found its way into the hands of Bomber Colton Ziegler who struggled to get the ball into the end zone, giving the Bombers a 14-13 lead.

The Bombers held the lead until 1:40 was left in the game. The Eagles connected with a 57-yard halfback pass from Demetri Nordgaard to Stephon Buckanan to again put the Eagles on top.

The Eagles lined up to go for the 2-point conversion and it was good to put the Eagles up 21-14. The Bombers then got the chance to push the ball up the field, but East Central's defense denied their attempts.
