Fall school sports begin

Moose Lake/Willow River Rebels football players push and shove their way by the Barnum Bombers Saturday, August 23 in Rush City.

This week marks the official beginning of the fall sports seasons at local schools. With recent scrimmages held, the teams are ready to hit the field and court.

The first regular season game for the Rebels football team is set for Thursday, August 28 in Hermantown at 7 p.m.

The Bombers football team begins their season with a home game against Rush City Friday, August 29 at 7 p.m.

The Rebels' first regular season volleyball game was set for Tuesday at home against Hinckley-Finlayson. The next game is set for September 2 in Proctor at 7:15 p.m.

The first regular season game for the Bombers volleyball team was held Tuesday in Rush City. The next game is set for August 28 in Barnum at 7 p.m. versus Pine City.

The Moose Lake/Willow River/Barnum cross country team has their second meet of the season August 28 at 10 a.m. in Virginia at Alcott Park.
