Bombers continue to score

The Barnum Bomber boys basketball team hit the road last week to play the Carlton Bulldogs then the Floodwood Polar Bears.

The first game of the week put Barnum up against Carlton, and it soon was clear the Bombers held nothing back as they took the Bulldogs down 90-27.

Brandon Newman led the Bombers with 30 points and six rebounds. Zac Carlson followed with 14 points and four rebounds. Tory Slater showed his dominance under the basket with 11 points and eight rebounds. Andrew Naslund ended the night with eight points, two rebounds and one blocked shot. Dakota Haley added seven points, while Hunter Fetters put up six points and one rebound. Nate Jelinek and Mitchell Weller both ended the night with four points. Chase Peterson, Tanner Fuglestad and Cory Buchanan all contributed two points.

The second game of the week had the Bombers meeting the Polar Bears.

This game was more difficult to win as the Polar Bears brought some physical play.

The Polar Bears held Newman to only 22 points, with four rebounds and five steals. Carlson put up 13 points and three rebounds. Haley ended the night with seven points and one rebound, while Slater had six points, five rebounds and two steals. Weller added five points and five rebounds. Naslund also added five points and one steal. Jelinek added three points and two rebounds, with Peterson adding the final two points, three rebounds and three steals.

The Bombers left Floodwood with the 63-47 point victory.
