Bomber golf advances

The girls team finished in the 1st place spot after day one of the Section 7A Golf Tournament. They are up by 6 strokes over the Mille Lacs Raiders going into the Section 7A Finals on Tuesday, May 28. A two-day score is used to determine what team moves on to the State Tournament. The low five individuals who are not a part of the winning team also move on to the State Tournament.

On May 24, the Barnum Bombers golf members headed to Virginia to play in the sub-section tournament.

The boys team did not advance as a team, but three of them advanced as individuals. Greyson Lekander, Blake Bonneville and Sam Anderson all got the chance to play farther into the tournament scene.

The Bomber girls did better as a team, taking first place in sub-sections and advancing. The Bombers were led by Kelsey Timm and Jamie Bird, both hitting 48, while Jessica Bird followed close behind, hitting 51. Brandi Lekander scored 53. Geana Guillard had 55. Morgan Donaldson rounded out the team shooting a 59, allowing the girls a chance to advance to sections.

The Bombers will once again be in Virginia on May 28.
