Tour school, learn about election

It seems like all I have been doing lately is talking about the school bond election that is coming up on May 21. However, what I have found is that people still do not know about our attempts to build a new school building.

I want to invite the public to our open house on April 23 and 25 to get information about the upcoming election. You are invited to the school cafeteria any time on these dates from 6-8 p.m.

We will have tours of our present building, and the architect, construction consultants, financial experts and staff will be available to answer your questions.

If you bring your land parcel number, you will be able to find the tax impact to your property from the school district building bond.

If you want general information, go to our website at and click on “Building Bond” on the left side of the screen.

Having an open house is a great way to limit public questions and discourse. In the event an opinion that is in opposition, will only be heard by a limited population. Does the school board have a number that they consider to be too much of a tax increase, where they would say this is too expensive for the homeowner? I bet not. did they realize someone working a family farm or even a centennial farm, would be pushed to sell land to offset the tax increase? did they care? hmmmm
