Community Connection Fair April 25


Mercy Hospital and Moose Lake School's AGE to age Program are partnering to bring together a potpourri of local services, organizations and businesses at the Community Connection Health & Wellness Fair. This free event for community members of all ages will be held from 1-7 p.m. on Thursday, April 25 in the gymnasium at Moose Lake Community Schools.

“In honor of Mercy’s 50th Anniversary, we are very excited to cosponsor this event with Moose Lake Public Schools,” said Jason Douglas, Mercy CEO. “This community event will showcase the wide array of health and wellness resources that are available right here, close to home. We hope the entire community will take some time to check it out. It will have something for everyone.”

Not only will there be free drawings for a chance to win a kayak, bikes, Nook HD, bread machine, electronic dart board and Mercy Wellness Center memberships and class packages, you’ll find local jam for sale under the Farmer’s Market tent, walk through Essentia’s Virtual Colon display, get information on the school’s new daycare, watch a kickboxing demonstration, get a chair massage, learn how to download books on your Nook or Kindle, get your blood pressure checked, enjoy a knitting lesson, sign up for the Moose Run, learn about 4-H, get pointers from professional body builder Christyna May, buy plants from Young’s Greenhouse, learn more about a local organization you may want to join, view Kathy’s Quilt Display, explore our Early Childhood Family Education program, visit with members from the Moose Lake Historical Society, take advantage of Mercy Hospital’s Body Mass Index (BMI) screens, blood pressure checks, hand washing station, not to mention a number of interactive displays on nutrition, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, vision therapy and more.

“We are thrilled to provide our students and staff this opportunity to connect with community members, local businesses and organizations,” said Robert Indihar, Moose Lake Community Schools Superintendent, “It’s going to be a fabulous event and we hope to pack the gym.”

The event is free of charge and will take place on Thursday, April 25 from 1-7 p.m. in the Moose Lake high school gymnasium.
