School board candidate forum set

Event to be held October 25

The Moose Lake PTA is sponsoring a Moose Lake School Board candidate forum to be held on Thursday, October 25 at 7 p.m. at the Moose Lake School auditorium. The event will begin with a brief “State of the Schools” address by Superintendent Robert Indihar, followed by candidate responses to PTA prepared questions and approved questions from the audience, and conclude with a “Meet and Greet” session in the high school library media center. Child care will be provided.

Five candidates are vying for three open school board positions in the November 6 election. Incumbents Lisa Anderson-Reed, Jamie Jungers, and Kristi Skelton Weisert are seeking reelection. Byron Kuster and Scott Benoit have also filed as candidates for the open positions.

School board service is one of the most important responsibilities a citizen can undertake. The decisions of the board can greatly affect a generation of students and the community.

The PTA believes it is important for voters to have the information necessary to make an informed decision in the process of electing school board members who reflect the values of the community. The PTA hopes to have many local residents attend this event.
