The Lady Rebels were defeated by the Greenway Raiders 55-20 on Dec. 28. Hannah Roach started the Rebel scoring with a nice lay up off a screen by Lilly Petty. MLWR took a 2-0 lead the was quickly answered by the Raiders with a three point shot. Maci Kukuk responded with an easy jump shot to go back up 4-3, but it quickly fell apart for the Rebels as the Raiders scored 11 straight points before the Rebels were able to score again. Greenway led 14-6. The Raiders outscored the Rebels 17-8 the remainder of the half to take a 31-14 lead into the locker room.
The second half wasn’t any easier for the Rebels. Once again, turnovers, fouls and a poor shooting percentage plagued MLWR as the Raiders made 10 straight points before the Rebels were able to score in the half. Greenway led 43-16 at the 12 minute mark of the second half. MLWR continued to struggle throughout the remainder of the game as the Rebels were only able to add an additional four points. Hannah Roach led all Rebel scorers with six points. The Rebel junior varsity won their game 50-18.
