Lady Rebels fall to Hilltoppers but fly past Broncos

The Lady Rebels hockey team won against the International Falls Broncos by scoring 7 points. They would fall to the Duluth Marshall Hilltoppers with a score of 3-0. They play next on Friday, March 5 at Hibbing High School at 7 p.m.

The Lady Rebels would play a pair of games this past week. First hosting the Hilltoppers of Duluth Marshall on the 25th of February then hosting the Broncos of International Falls on the 27th of February. The Lady Rebels would fight hard against the Hilltoppers as they would get out shot 32-10. Mallory Hartl would earn her keep as she would stop 29 shots only allowing 3 to slide past her, as the Hilltoppers would take the game 3-0. The first period would be a back and forth battle as neither team would be able to score. The second period however would see the Hilltoppers hit back to back goal a mere few second for each other, at the 10:43 and 10:23 marks left in the period. The Rebels would then stand strong as they would fend off further attacks on the goal until late in the third period at the 2:16 mark left in the game, where the Hilltoppers would score their final goal of the night. The Hilltoppers would skate away with the 3-0 victory.

A couple nights later it would be the Lady Rebels turn to show dominance on the ice as they would take on the Broncos of International Falls. The Rebels would be the first to score as they would punch the puck between the pipes with 14:05 left in the first period. The Rebels would strike again a few minutes later as they would score their second goal for the night, but it would not be their last. The Rebels would put up their third goal in the first period with: 58 left on the clock. The Broncos would come out first in the second period scoring their first goal with 12:50 left in the period. The Rebels would then take control of the puck again and score twice more in the second period, with the first goal coming with 4:41 left and then again with 3:52 left in the period. The Rebels would not be content with that as they would score twice more in the third period first coming with 6:53 left then 5:20 left in the third. The Rebels would out shoot the Broncos 44-10 for the night.
