The Lady Bombers hosted the Vikings of Cook County early Friday evening in a double header, as the boys would follow the girls' game.
The Vikings took the lead in the first half as Ariana Poyirier put up 12 first half points, followed by Abbie Crawford with 5, Rhonnie Poyirier with 4, Paisley Smith 2 and Katie Peck 2. The Bombers were be led by Allie Marine with 9, followed by Makenzee Schleret 5, Rayna Klejeski 4, and Anessa Davis 2.
The Bombers trailed the Vikings 25-20 going into the second half, but came alive to tie the game at 45-45 at the end of regulation.
Bombers' Schleret put up 11 points, while Marine added 8, Davis 3, Madison Warnygora 2, and Klejeski went to the line to add 1, to give the Bombers 25 second half points. Vikings' Rhonnie Poyirier added 9, Ariana Poyirier 5, Peck 2, Crawford 2, and Smith 2, giving the Vikings 20 second half points.
The game went into overtime with the Bombers controlling the tipoff. It was a back and forth battle in overtime as both teams were set to take the victory. The Vikings scored 7 points in overtime as Crawford hit a 3-pointer and Ariana Poyirier added 2 more points to her total for the night. Alyssa Spry rounded out the scoring for the Vikings coming off the bench for 2 free throws, giving the Vikings 52 points on the night.
Bombers' Schleret put up 3 points in overtime, but it was Kyra Heaton who came off the bench to go to the free throw line, hitting 2 for 2 to tie the game up in overtime and allow Marine to take the victory from the Vikings with 4 points in overtime giving the Bombers the 54-52 victory.
