Thomas Nelson Blair was born in Glendale, California on Sept 1, 1943 to Beatrice and Robert Blair.

He was an innovator and trailblazer in education for 38 years as a teacher and high school principal. He received many awards, including being honored as a Bush Fellow, named Minnesota Secondary Principal of the Year, and was awarded a Milken Educator Award from the Milken Family Foundation.

He was guided by his love for Lana, his kids and his grandkids. He was the caretaker, the rock and the leader of the family.

Tom is survived by his wife Lana; children, Tom (Thao) Blair and daughter Chelsea, Shannon Blair-Olsen and children Mackenzie, Jack and Caden; and Stephanie (Adam) Phernetton and children Easton, Hope (in heaven) and Chace (in heaven) Phernetton; as well as many brothers and sisters, nieces and nephews in the Blair, Chambers and Donald families.

A service was held for immediate family on Dec. 27, 2021, at The Peterson Chapel in St. Michael. A special thank you to Engel Haus-Guardian Angels Memory Care and hospice staff that cared for Tom so well during the past year.
