Alina Skutevik hits a long two pointer.

The Lady Bombers traveled to Aitkin to take on the Gobblers for the first round of section 7AA tournament play, on the March 1. The Gobblers came out strong and fast; their height and speed would be a challenge for the Bombers to overcome. The Bombers ran with the Gobblers for a time, but by the end of the first half, the Gobblers took a 31-21 lead.

Senior Liz Carlson of the Bombers led the team with a pair of nice outside shots to give her six first-half points. Kaitlyn Skutevik displayed her versatility, landing a nice outside shot and also driving the lane for an additional two points for five first-half points. Jordyn Marine stood tall under the basket and dropped in a pair of baskets for four first-half points. Makenzee Schleret and Mallory Agurkis both hit nice outside shots to give each three first half points.

Into the second half, the Bombers did not fare much better, as the Gobblers continued to poor on the pressure. Marine found a little more room under the basket and dropped in a pair of deuces. She also went to the free throw line and dropped in three additional points, giving her 11 game points. Agurkis added in an additional five points all from the free throw line, giving her eight game points. Kaitlyn Skutevik sunk in three points from beyond the arch for a total of eight game points. Kendal Miletich landed a three-point long shot and found her way to the free throw line, landing an additional two points for a five point game total. Lea Peterson made a nice drive to the basket for two points. After a foul, she had the opportunity to go to the free throw line to make it a three-point play. Finally Alina Skutevik landed a long two-point shot from just inside the arch.

The Bombers season came to an end with the Gobblers defeating them 61-46.
