Bombers slide past Cardinals

In one of the best games of the season, the Barnum Bombers girls basketball team hosted the Cromwell Cardinals January 18 in a rematch game from earlier in the season.

The Bombers scored first and never let up. The Cardinals were short one of their best scorers and the Bombers took advantage of the opportunity and had four players in double digits.

The Bombers took a slight lead into halftime, 26-24.

The battle continued in the second half. The Bombers jumped to a 13 point lead. The Cardinals then brought on the pressure with their speed and to score from beyond the arc bringing them to within two points of the Bombers.

The Bombers ended the night with the 57-55 victory.

Bomber Emily Miletich led the scoring with 18 points; Liz Carlson had a good night with 11 points; Kaitlyn Skutevik and Mallory Agurkis both added 10 points; Kendal Miletich added four points; Lea Peterson and Jordyn Marine both added two points.

The Cardinals scored most of their points from beyond the arc. Teana Hakamaki scoring 24 points all from beyond the arc. Shaily Hakamaki had 24 points with nine from beyond the arc. Elizabeth Risacher added three points from long range, while Amber Lehti and Amber Collman both added two points for the Cardinals.
