MLWR boys take consolation title

The Moose Lake/Willow River fourth-grade boys lost in the first round of the Pacesetter Great Four-State Championships, then came back to win the consolation title at Xcel Energy Center and Concordia-St. Paul on Saturday and Sunday.

After losing to eventual champion Thompson (ND) 23-20, the Rebels defeated Grand Rapids 33-21 and Williston (ND) 21-9. MLWR placed second in the Region 7 tournament and third in the state tournament to qualify for the Great Four-State.

Players are Eli Youngs, Olavi Leino, Levi Mikrot, Reese Bode, Chasa Clausen, Mason Meyer, Brady Robbins, Dawson Kracke, Elliott Wasche and Walker Ziegler. Their coaches are Shaw Bode, Chris Meyer and Chad Robbins.
