Barnum Bomber Lea Peterson finds a way to get on second base against the Silver Bay Mariners May 19.

The Barnum Lady Bombers softball team hosted the Lions of Ogilvie May 18 in Willow River on the Rebels' softball field. Due to the recent rainy weather, the game was moved to the Rebels' field.

The Bombers came out right away with a hitting frenzy and jumped to the early lead. The Lions found ways to hit and get players on base, but just couldn't find a way to score.

The Bombers walked away with an easy victory over the Lions, winning 15-0.

Bombers take on Mariners

Friday, May 19 had the Lady Bombers heading to Wade Stadium to take on the Silver Bay Mariners. This looked to be a very good match-up as both teams had similar stats.

The Bombers took the field first. The Mariners showed the Bombers they were not afraid of them as they jumped to an early lead. The Bombers made several errors in the first inning to allow the Mariners to score five runs.

The Bombers then stepped to the plate and scored only one run by Lea Peterson. The Bombers then were able to hold the Mariners from adding to their lead, but the Mariners defense also prevented the Bombers from mounting a comeback.

The Mariners added to their lead late in the game to make it 9-1. The Bombers were able to put one more run on the board, but that proved to be the best the Bombers could do as they fell 9-2 to the Mariners.
