Barnum Bomber Kyle Kielty draws the foul as he puts back the rebound in the January 8 game against the Cook County Vikings.

The Barnum Bombers boys basketball team hosted the Cook County Vikings in the second of a double header January 8.

The Vikings controlled the tip-off but from that point on, the Bombers took control and dominated.

Bomber Chris Carlson went into criminal mode as he was able to steal ball upon ball from the Vikings. Bomber Hunter Fetters took command of his position under the basket and dropped ball after ball through the hoop. Mason Agurkis had no problems landing shots from wherever he launched them. Drake Weets and Reese Parks moved the ball well, not giving the Vikings many chances to control the basketball. Daniel Gilchrist came off the bench to drop in the long ball and a point from the free throw line. Colton Ziegler also came off the bench to add a pair of points for the Bombers. The Bombers headed into halftime with a 40-19 lead.

The Bombers continued to dominate in the second half, adding to their lead.

Bomber Kyle Kielty came off the bench to show the fans he knows how to pound the ball through the basket. Kielty drove the ball to the basket as well as pulled up for the jumper. Kielty ended the game with 10 second half points. Braden Hlavka came into the game with just a few minutes left to add a pair of points for the Bombers.

The Bombers were led by senior Fetters with 22 points, followed by Chris Carlson with 15 points. Kielty added 10 points. Meanwhile, Bombers Weets, Gilchrist and Agurkis ended the night with eight points each. Ziegler and Hlavka rounded out the scoring with two points each.

The Bombers took the 75-33 victory over the Vikings.
