Great start to new year

As most of you have noticed, there is activity on the school's County Road 10 property. They have officially started the process of clearing the land for the new Moose Lake Community Schools building.

We just received bids for the foundation and outer shell of the building last Friday. The architect and construction managers are going over the bids right now to see if they meet specifications and to award the bids. We did receive many bids for structural steel but none for labor to construct the steel. I believe we will be rebidding that portion.

You should start noticing a structure going up in October/November. We are posting pictures of the latest building construction updates on our website and our Facebook page.

We have had a bumper crop of students this year. We were up more than we expected. This is exciting for Moose Lake school.

Most of our growth is in the elementary. The board voted to add two additional teachers to accommodate the additional class size growth.

Our school year has gotten off to a great start!
