Track and field team ready with good numbers

The Moose Lake/Willow River track and field team is ready to compete.

Head Moose Lake/Willow River Rebels track and field coach Tony Andres has good numbers ready to compete for this spring season. Andres is assisted by Joe McDonnell and Adam Whelan.

There are six senior boys: Jeremiah Chavez, Josh Pettersen, Asa Spicer, David Moonen, Milan Dragicevich and Jake Blais. The nine juniors are Thomas Hansen, Andrew Mikrot, Ryder Anderson, Bryceton Butkiewicz, Luke Branson, Ryan Wilson, Craig Nelson, Chris Regan and Casey Tuel. The three sophomores are Joseph Bustrak, Sam Coil and Quentin VonRueden. Freshmen include Ethan Olson, Dylan Louzek, David Webb, Evan Nelson, Drew Welch, Jarren Bennett, Austin Rote, Gordy Eaton, Zach Schilling, Sam Blume, Colton Little and Jacob Danelski.

The Rebels girls team is headed up by one senior - Karina Cisar. Juniors include Zita Surjan, Lucia Cartolano, Ava Szczyrbak, Libbie Ring, Josephine Race, Nicole Tekippe, Jessy Dixon and Mercedes Moffett. Sophomores are Kierston Evenson, Sydney Bexell, Steph Pasek, Jessica Lange, Paige Falt and Morgan Mlaskoch. There are no freshmen girls, but the eighth-graders include Sarah Michels, Kennedy Bryant, Jayma Tucker, Addi Frye, Savannah Gamst and Lauren Hartman.

The Rebels have an indoor meet slated for 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 28 at the UWS fieldhouse. The next meet is Tuesday, April 7 at 4 p.m. in McGregor followed by a Thursday, April 9 at 4:30 p.m. in Aitkin.
