The Moose Lake Area Rebels 12U girls hockey team is named district and region champions. They head to state competition in New Ulm March 13-15.

The Moose Lake Area (MLA) Rebels 12U girls hockey team is having a dream season.

With a record of 31-0-1 the 12U team knows how to "Play Like a Girl." They earned championship wins in four weekend tournaments in Moose Lake, Eden Prairie, Grand Rapids and Hibbing. The girls played tough, smart hockey to become District 11 champions and Olympic Regional Champions. A shutout weekend at regions showed the hard work MLA goalie Jo Ruby and the rest of the girls are willing to put in.

The talents of the MLA coaches are also evident. Jason, Dan, Chris and Seth have been busy preparing the girls for the next level of play.

March 13-15 the MLA 12U girls will move to that next level and meet the toughest teams in Minnesota at the state tournament in New Ulm.

Fans are encouraged to attend and cheer on the team toward their ultimate goal of becoming the Minnesota 12U B state champions.

Though this group has a winning record to be proud of, they also have great work ethic. Their strong bond with one another shows the true definition of "team."
