Candidates file for Nov. 4 election

 


Candidates for seats on two school boards and the hospital board have filed by the August 12 deadline.

For the Barnum School Board, incumbents Tony Newman and Paul Coughlin filed for re-election. The term for Donnie Juntunen Jr. will conclude at the end of the year, but he did not file for re-election.

Others who filed as candidates include James Fugelstad, Donald Gross, Rachael Pettit and Jessica Unkelhaeuser.

The terms of three incumbents on the Moose Lake School Board will conclude at the end of the year. Incumbents Julie Peterson, Kris Lyons and Tom Paull have filed as candidates for another term.

Paull had been appointed to fill out the term of Peter Steen.

Steven Blondo has also filed as a candidate for the Moose Lake School Board.

For the Mercy Hospital Board, the director-at-large position, currently held by Joanne Collier, the city of Kettle River position, currently held by Laurie Tomczak, the city of Barnum position, that had been held by Brett Collier who had resigned, the Windemere Township position, currently held by Kelly Goeb, and the Silver Township position, currently held by Christopher Thiessen, will all conclude at the end of the year.

All incumbents have filed as candidates to represent those townships. No one filed to represent the city of Barnum.

Claire Stevens filed as a candidate for director-at-large position in addition to Joanne Collier.
