Give input on new school August 18

As most Moose Lake residents have heard, the school board has officially passed a resolution to go out for a bond election on a new preK-12 facility on our County Road 10 property.

We will be organizing and following all of the legal timeline requirements during the next couple of months. In September, you will start to see more formal data on what the building would look like and what it will mean to you as a taxpayer.

The public will have opportunities to see the design and give input into the concept of a new school on August 18 at 6 p.m. in the auditorium. We will provide an explanation of the need for a new school, a concept for the new school and the tax impact of the new school. This meeting will be a good opportunity to give your input into the new building. I encourage you to attend this presentation.

Here is what we know so far. The legislation will pay for close to 60 percent of our mortgage on a new school. The building will be preK-12 on our County Road 10 property. The board decided on a one-story building for safety and cost reasons.

There will be many more facts given at the meeting on August 18. Take an interest and become educated in your potential new school building.
