Law enforcement continues search for bank robbery suspect
Law enforcement agencies throughout Carlton and Pine counties, as well as the FBI, respond to Northview Bank in Willow River following a robbery Wednesday around noon.
On June 25, at approximately 12:06 p.m., the Northview Bank, located at 8132 County Road 61, Willow River, was robbed.
Pine County Chief Deputy Rick Giese said the sheriff's office was notified when 911 dispatch received a call from an employee of the bank right after the robbery.
Northview Bank was shut down so law enforcement could conduct an investigation. The Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) took over the case, as is standard procedure according to Giese, and will be working closely with the Pine County Sheriff's Office to resolve the crime.
The robber is described as a black male, approximately 5 feet, 7 inches in height, having a slender build, wearing a white mask, black "hoodie" style sweatshirt, gray sweatpants, and having a dark-colored semi-automatic handgun.
The robber, who got away with an undisclosed amount of money, is believed to have fled in an older model red Chevrolet Blazer bearing Wisconsin license plates. Giese said the vehicle was a late '80s or early '90s model.
Anyone with information should call the Pine County Sheriff's Office at (320) 629-8380 or the FBI at (763) 569-8000.
