Seven injured in I-35 rollover
Seven people were injured in an accident on Interstate 35 in Pine County on Monday night.
According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Chantell Ladd, 40, of Rochester, was driving a 1997 Chevy Blazer when she went off the road in the northbound lane at 9:09 p.m. between Sturgeon Lake and Willow River.
The State Patrol said the vehicle went off the road to the left, then back onto I-35 and flipped on its roof before flipping over again and ending in the ditch on the right side of the interstate.
All seven people were transported by ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Moose Lake. One was transported by ambulance to St. Mary's Hospital in Duluth while one was transported by helicopter to the same hospital. Two others were transported by helicopter to Children's Hospital in St. Paul. The remaining three were treated at Mercy Hospital. The three victims transported by life flight had serious injuries.
Along with the driver, two of the other victims were adults, 25 and 20 years of age. There were four children in the car between the ages of 3 and 7.
The incident happened around Mile Marker 208. The road was dry at the time of the accident.
