Norman Township

Notice is hereby given that the Norman Township Planning Commission will conduct a public hearing on Saturday, April 19th, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. in the Norman Township Hall. The purpose of this hearing is to gather comments on an amendment to the zoning ordinance to add the following permitted use in the Agricultural District;

Subd. 7.2 H Meat Processing Plant conforming to all applicable County, State and/or Federal Statutes and Rules. The capacity of such plant is not to exceed processing on any day more than 10 Animal Units as defined by the 2013 Minnesota Administrative Rule 7020.0300 Subp. 5. or its successor rule. An exception to this capacity is allowed for wild game animals during their hunting season provided there is sufficient on site storage capacity to preserve the extra carcasses until they can be processed. At any time when odor becomes a problem the township requires refrigeration of the offal between the time of processing and when it is picked up by a rendering service.

Written comments received by the town clerk prior to the end of day on April 18th will be read at the meeting and considered by the Planning Commission. These comments should be mailed or delivered to Mary Jo Jensen, 71695 Elwell Road, Bruno, MN 55712.
