Schools close due to weather ... again

After yet another snowstorm, Barnum High School is buried in snow Friday morning.

Another powerful snowstorm slammed communities across Minnesota and Wisconsin Thursday and Friday of last week.

Schools around the region closed their doors Friday due to the snow accumulation. According to the National Weather Service (www.nws.noaa.gov), 10.8 inches of new snowfall was reported in Moose Lake Friday morning. In Holyoke, 14.8 inches was recorded; 12 inches in Cloquet; and 11 inches in Hinckley.

Though no significant snowfall is predicted for the near future, lows below zero will sweep through the area.
