Moose Lake/Willow River Rebel Ezra Szczyrbak signs a letter of intent to Northern Iowa University Wednesday, February 5. Szczyrbak will join the Panther team with a full scholarship.

Moose Lake/Willow River star defensive end and offensive and defensive MVP, Ezra Szczyrbak, will play for former pro defensive end and Defensive End of the Year Byrce Paup who coaches at the University of Northern Iowa in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. Szczyrbak signed his National Letter of Intent on Wednesday, February 5 to play with the Panthers.

In a phone interview on Friday, February 7, the 6-foot, 5-inch 250-pounder shared some further information. "Coach Paup played for the Green Bay Packers and the Buffalo Bills," said Szczyrbak. He added, "Coach Lynch was my recruiting coach. They're playing me at defensive end. I really liked coach Lynch and coach Paup and the rest of the coaching staff. They liked the way I played football. I really liked the way they treated me as a person and not just a football player. I am undecided at this time as to what my major will be."
