The Moose Lake Area Rebels hosted and picked up their fourth win of the season as they came back to beat the Pine City-Rush City Dragons 5-2 at Riverside Arena in Moose Lake Friday, January 31. Bryceton Butkiewicz and Wyatt Lampel had three- and two-point nights, respectively. The Rebels out-shot the Dragons 43-38 with Gage Mohelsky getting the win in goal as he made 36 saves.
Pine City-Rush City had the lone goal of the first period and it came on a power play at 11:48.
The Dragons took a 2-0 lead as they score an unassisted, even strength goal at 1:03 of the second period. The Rebels' Hunter Lake and Devin Murphy combined for 2-1 at 1:42. It was Alex Erickson, Jesse Granfors and Bryceton Butkiewicz clicking at 16:19 to knot the game at 2-2 heading into the final frame.
Butkiewicz, who went into the game with 19 goals and 14 assists, scored an unassisted, even strength goal at 9:51. Wyatt Lampel scored unassisted on the power play at 11:05 for 4-2. Butkiewicz and Lampel lit the lamp with one tick left in the game at 16:59 as the Rebels improved to 4-14 on the season.
