Rebels shoot down Hilltoppers

The Moose Lake/Willow River Rebels boys basketball team hit 13 three-pointers en route to shooting down the Marshall School of Duluth Hilltoppers 76-44 on Tuesday, January 21 in Moose Lake.

Brad Fossum - four threes and 22 points - and Charlie Adamczak - five threes and 21 points - paced the Rebels. Matt Mach added 11 points and three threes for ML/WR.

The Hilltoppers were led by Alexander Davis with 14 points, including Marshall's only three-pointer.

The Rebels went 13-for-33 (39 percent) as a team from outside the arc, while the Hilltoppers managed to sink one of their five attempts for 20 percent from threeland.

Moose Lake/Willow River had an inside game of only 11-for-36 (31 percent), while the Hilltoppers had 16-for-47 (34 percent) in and near the paint. The Rebels went a good 15-for-20 at the foul line for 75 percent, while Marshall hit 9-for-18 on its free throws.

The Rebels won the battle of boards 38-28 and took the steals and the assists at 13-5 and 11-4, respectively. While the Rebels kept the turnovers down to 10, the Hilltoppers had 15 lost possessions.
