The Barnum Bombers boys basketball team hosted the Carlton Bulldogs Friday, January 17.
The Bombers were led by junior Brandon Newman, with 32 points. Zac Carlson posted 13 points for the night. Tory Slator came up big from below the basket adding 11 points for the night. Dakota Haley put up nine points, while Nate Jelinek added to the Bombers' score eightpoints. Hunter Fetters put up four points and Chase Peterson added two points, while Mitchell Weller went to the free throw line for one point.
The Bombers finished with an 80-32 point victory.
The Bombers basketball program also took time during half time of the game to honor Ron Metso with the retirement of his jersey to his family.
The Bombers' second game of the weekend put them against the Jaguars of Hinckley-Finlayson on Saturday, January 18.
This match-up played out much like the Carlton game, with the Bombers sending a message that they are here to play.
The Bombers were again led by Newman with 21 points. Carlson added 14 points and Slator again dominated the basket adding 12 points. Jelinek put up nine points. Weller came off the bench to add seven points. Haley posted four points, while Tanner Fuglestad came off the bench to land the long bomb for three points. Peterson and Tommy Ziegler both added two points to give the Bombers the 79-40 victory.
