The Barnum Bombers boys basketball team hosted the Cromwell Cardinals December 20.
It was the Bombers that took control early with a triple attack from players Brandon Newman, Zac Carlson, with 12 points in the first half, and Hunter Fetters, with nine first half points. Dakota Haley contributed three first half points, while Mitchell Weller also added a pair to give the Bombers a 38-20 lead heading into half time.
The Cardinals were led by Austin Pfisthner with seven first half points. Brandon Fairbanks landed a pair of long balls to add six first half points. Tyler Hakamaki added four points in the first half, and finally Zion Smith put up a long ball for three points in the first half, giving the Cardinals 20 first half points.
The Cardinals fought in the second half, but again it was the Bombers that came with the power, as Newman and Carlson remained red hot. Carlson and Newman put up 21 points on their own, while the Cardinals were only able to put together 20 second half points as a team.
Andrew Naslund put up three points from beyond the arc. Haley added four second half points, while Nate Jelinek, and Hunter Fetters both added a pair, giving the Bombers the 71-40 point victory.
