Airport receives award

The Moose Lake - Carlton County Airport received an Intermediate Airport Merit Award in December for the Airport Runway Pavement Rehabilitation project. A "Merit Award" program was initiated in 1962 and has had a significant effect on the quality of construction by publicly honoring the "Best Projects" in a variety of categories each year. The Moose Lake - Carlton County Airport was awarded under the Intermediate Airport category.

Those receiving the award include (pictured) Chuck Andrews, Dave Clement and Kerry Abramson, KGM Contractors; Cassandra Isackson, Mn/DOT Aeronautics; Mark Linne, Carlton County Airport Commission; and Darren Christopher, RS&H Engineers.

The Moose Lake airport was first activated in January 1951 and it has an average of 94 aircraft operations per week.
