Bombers advance to second round

Barnum Bomber Megan Nelson serves the ball in the October 21 match-up against the Lions of Lakeview Christian Academy.

The Barnum Bombers volleyball team would hosted the Lions of Lakeview Christian Academy on October 21.

The first set, the Bombers jumped out to an early lead by the serves of both Lauren Hultgren and Megan Nelson. The set ended before the Bombers even got through all six servers. The Bombers took the first set 25-9.

Kills in the first set were few with Daron Mainville having two while Hultgren came away with one.

The second set again belonged to the Bombers, ending 25-15. Nelson led the way with 11 serves won, but only one ace. The kill catagory again went to Mainville with three, but this set MJ Anderson, Hultgren, Emma Koski, Olivia Angell and Sage Miletich added one kill each.

In the third set, the Bombers again came away with the victory, 25-18.

This time, it was Anderson, Angell, and Mainville with kills at two apiece, while Madison Hlavka added one kill.

The night was all offense as the Bombers played a game of attack, with very few digs needed.

Miletich led the digs with six, while Mainville and Peyton Bushey were the only Bombers with blocks at two each.
