Arrest made in assault, burglary

 


The Carlton County Sheriff's Office reports an individual involved in an assault and burglary that was reported the evening of October 17 remains in custody at the Carlton County Jail pending formal charges and has been identified as 37-year-old Scott Eric Obrecht of Duluth.

Obrecht is being held for second degree assault and first degree burglary as it pertains to a call stemming from M. T. Nelson Road, Mahtowa Township, Carlton County. This incident occurred approximately one and one-half hour after the first report of a similar incident on Morris Thomas Road in St. Louis County.

Law enforcement agencies worked together to establish the connection of the suspect for both incidents. Follow-up continues with this case being reviewed by the Carlton County Attorney's Office.
