The Minnesota Correctional Facility at Moose Lake (MCF-ML) will begin two new outdoor construction projects beginning May 28.
The first project involves relining sewer pipes to prevent storm runoff from entering the Moose Lake city sewer system. The work is scheduled at night between the hours of 8 p.m. and 6 a.m., Monday through Friday. This project will require additional exterior lighting, running generators to power equipment and increased traffic on the facility perimeter road. The scheduled completion date is June 12 or until the work is completed.
The second project involves replacement of the water tower at MCF-ML. The Minnesota Department of Corrections has partnered with Minnesota Department of Human Services to complete this project. This project is scheduled to begin in July. The new water tower will be located near the existing tower. During this project, a crane and other heavy equipment will be required, causing increased traffic on the grounds. The work on the water tower will occur during regular business hours, Monday through Friday.
MCF-ML asks for patience while these essential projects are being completed. If you have questions or comments, contact Associate Warden Jeff Spies at (218) 485-5012.
