Moose Lake-Willow River Girls Head Basketball Coach Joe Adamczak, with the help of 7th and 8th grade coach Paul Olson, many other elementary coaches and volunteers, was able to organize a three day camp for kindergarten through sixth grade girls. The camp was held April 29 and 30 and May 1 at the Willow River school gym.
At the camp, the girls each were given a Skills Basketball to keep. Many of the current junior high and high school players were also there to help with the camp.
"I was not expecting such a great turnout of future Rebel stars. I originally thought we would have about 30-40 girls, but the interest was unbeleivable and 81 girls came to camp," said Adamczak. "We had alot of fun teaching the girls dribbling, passing, and shooting drills. We played many different types of skilled games and prizes were handed out to all girls."
Since the turnout was so large, next year they are planning to have a kindergarten through second grade camp in the spring and a third through sixth grade camp in the fall.
"Together we will build a successful program at ML/WR. Built on hard work, dedication, acedemics, and respect," said Adamczak.
