Bomber softball plays strong

The Barnum Bomber softball team had a long week playing nearly every day.

Tuesday, May 7, the week began with a double header against Cook County and McGregor. The Bombers put together an impressive game against Cook County with a 19-15 victory, where every Bomber player scored. Kerra Rowell led RBIs with five against Cook County.

The second game of the afternoon, the Bombers didn't fair so well, falling to the McGregor Mercuries 6-3. Lauren Hultgren led the scoring with two runs while Rowell got the third run of the game for the Bombers.

Thursday, May 9 the Bombers were on the road up to Nashwauk-Keewatin. The Bombers once again walked away with the victory, winning 8-5.

Friday, May 10 the Bombers again hit the road to Silver Bay. The Bombers struggled against the Mariners and fell 7-4. Emma Koski came away with two RBIs while Rowell and MJ Anderson both had one RBI apiece.

The Bombers would next host a double header against Two Harbors and Cromwell on Saturday the 11th. The Bombers dominated the day winning against Cromwell 14-4, and against Two Harbors 17-7. Hultgren led the Bombers with scoring, making the lap around the bases three times, while Kamille Korpela got the only RBI against Cromwell. Meanwhile, against Two Harbors, Hultgren shared scoring honors with senior Paige Rilea, both scoring three times. Hultgren shared RBI honors with Brittany Baier, both with two RBIs. Anderson and Lyric Lekander also had single RBIs against Two Harbors.

The final game of the week for the Bombers came on Monday, May 13 with a 10-0 victory over the Braham Bombers. Rilea led the scoring with three runs, while Hultgren, Korpela, and Baier all three had two RBIs. Rowell, Lekander, and Koski all had single RBIs.
