Rebels, Bombers fare well at UWS indoor meet

Moose Lake-Willow River Rebel Holly Mattison won the 55 meter hurdles and competed in the long jump.

Several Moose Lake-Willow River Rebels and Barnum Bombers fared well at the University of Wisconsin-Superior (UWS) indoor track and field meet on Saturday, April 6. At press time, there were no results posted for the field events.

The following represents the girls’ track events and athletes placing in the top six at the meet:

– 55 Meter Hurdles: Holly Mattison, ML-WR, first, 10:27; Hannah Race, ML-WR, second, 10:35.

– 800 Meter Run: Hayley Johnson, ML-WR, fifth, 2:44.6.

– 800 Meter Relay: ML-WR, third, 2:01.7.

– 1,600 Meter Relay: ML-WR, first, 4:35.9.

The following represents the boys’ track events and athletes placing in the top six at the meet:

– 55 Meter Hurdles: Issac Coil, ML-WR, third, 9.86.

– 60 Yard Dash: Jon Evenson, ML-WR, third, 7:10; Josh Petterson, ML-WR, sixth, 7:17.

– 400 Yard Dash: Shadoe Beard, Barnum, third, 59.0; David Moonen, ML-WR, fifth, 59.7; Zach Peterson, Barnum, sixth, 2:31.7.

– 800 Meter Run: Ben Moonen, ML-WR, first, 2:14.0; Chase Peterson, Barnum, sixth, 5:32.8.

– 800 Meter Relay: ML-WR, first 1:43.2; Barnum, fourth, 1:47.1.

– 1,600 Meter Relay: ML-WR, first, 3:54.6; ML-WR (B), fifth, 4:11.7.
