On March 9 just before 10 p.m., Carlton County 911 received a call from the clerk at Tall Pines Liquor, Carlton, reporting an armed robbery had just occurred at the store.
The clerk was approached by a male with a knife and was told, "This is a robbery, give me the money." The clerk gave the suspect an undisclosed amount of cash and the suspect then fled the store.
Deputies responded and through investigation, a suspect was identified and was located at a residence in the city of Carlton. Paul Duane Mrosla, age 24, of Carlton was taken into custody without incident. He was lodged at the Carlton County jail on charges of aggravated robbery, second degree assault and terroristic threats. He will remain in custody awaiting formal charging from the Carlton County Attorney's Office.
The Carlton County Sheriff's Office was assisted by the following agencies during the investigation: Minnesota State Patrol, Fond du Lac Police Department and the Cloquet Police Department.
