Junior Bowlers advance
Every Tuesday and Wednesday after school, Junior Bowlers meet at Gamper's to bowl in the junior leagues. There are about 60 Junior Bowlers that bowl each week. Because Gamper's is a member of the Bowling Proprietors Association of Minnesota, the children have the opportunity to bowl in many tournaments.
In the fall, they had league qualifying for the Minnesota Singles Tournament. The bowlers that qualified for this from the league went on to bowl districts, which were held in Duluth. There were 24 bowlers that went to Duluth. Three bowlers took first place in their division — Dawson Fjosne (avg. 65 and under), Jason Johnson (avg. 106–125) and Louie Kliniski (avg. 66–85). From there, nine went on to the State Tournament and had the opportunity to bowl in Hopkins. Finals are not in so it is unknown if anyone advanced to the national level.
Qualifying for the Pepsi tournament (a scratch tournament) and the Take Minnesota by Storm tournament (a handicap tournament) just finished. A total of 26 will advance to the district level in the Pepsi tournament and 17 will advance to the Storm tournament. They will bowl in Silver Bay in April.
Qualifying for the International Qubica Family Tournament will be held at Gamper's on February 24 and March 3. For details on this tournament, contact Edda at (218) 485-6024 or email@example.com
The group would like to thank Gamper's for welcoming the Juniors.
