"The Great Pandemonium" by Sam Cook, the one-act play presented by the Moose Lake High School Music/Theatre Department to the public on Monday, February 4, won third place in the sub-section competition in Two Harbors on Saturday, January 26. It was close, the play came in one point off of second place. In the play, Nick Patiuk is Jarrod Nusthorp, a high school drama teacher who is frustrated by incompetent cast members and crew during a technical rehearsal of Shakespeare's King Richard III. In an effort to show the cast members how the play should be preformed, he rattles off a multitude of lines from Shakespeare's play, and then collapses. Worried cast members gather around him. He revives and the rehearsal resumes. Others in the one-act play were David Folstad as Oz, Kelsee Stevens as Janet, Ellie Riihiluoma as Mrs. Dinsmore, Maddie Geil as Babs, Brad Fossum as Clarance, Kody Gerard as Richard, Caitlin Walker as Urla, and Lily Geil as Anne. The lights and sound were controlled by Brennen Newham and Dane Froiland, the director.
